Language Paper 2 — Q1 (true/false/select)
AQA English · Exam
What you need to know
- This is the easy marks question. Don’t overthink it.
- Read the question carefully: it tells you which source to use and what to look for.
- Use a quick method:
- Read the 4 statements.
- Scan the correct lines in the source and underline evidence.
- Decide True/False based on exact wording.
- If stuck: choose the option that is directly stated, not implied.
Common mistakes
- Using the wrong source / wrong part of the text.
- Choosing based on what “sounds right” instead of what’s stated.
- Missing negatives/quantifiers: never, only, all, some, mostly.
Self-check
- I used the right source.
- I can point to the exact line that proves each answer.
- I re-checked any statement with a negative (not/never) or absolute word (all/only).
