Key steps (method)
- P (Point): answer the question in one sentence.
- E (Evidence): embed a short quote.
- E (Explain/Effect): zoom in on 1–2 words + explain what they suggest.
- Z (Zoom / link): link to theme/purpose and back to the question.
Common mistakes
- Writing a point that doesn’t answer the question.
- Dropping a quote with no analysis.
- Explaining the plot instead of writer’s choices.
- Forgetting to link back to the question.
