Language Paper 1 — Q4 (evaluate)
AQA English · Exam
What you need to know
- Q4 = evaluation. You take a view and prove it with evidence.
- Use a clear stance: I agree / disagree / partly.
- Use methods + effects (language/structure) to support your judgement.
Common mistakes
- Sitting on the fence without a judgement.
- Retelling the story.
- Only analysing language (structure can be powerful here too).
Self-check
- Did I make my viewpoint clear in the first lines?
- Did I use multiple references and explain why they support my view?
